Our new video encoding technology utilizes a 4K widescreen or 2K anamorphic master to produce a multi-format Blu-ray disc or video stream that can be decoded into three new stunning, full resolution formats, while remaining compatible with current Blu-ray and streaming standards. No matter what type of display you own, you can have the highest resolution possible for your favorite movies.
Software Encoding
Software encoding that preserves the Director's vision. A single encode pass with Multi-Format Encoding (MFE) creates a backward compatible disc capable of producing 4 visual formats including a full resolution anamorphic format and the standard letterboxed format. Finally, Blu-ray can compete with widescreen anamorphic DVDs and provide future forward formats that DVD cannot provide!
Decoding for CE Devices
Multi-Format Decoding (MFD) reintegrates the extra resolution stored by our encode process, creating the highest resolution available for 2.35:1 content. With an MFD enabled Blu-ray or streaming player, the full potential of MF Encoding can be utilized by 4K, 21:9 and 2.35:1 displays, while still supporting current 16:9 displays with a standard letterbox format. Full resolution formats are only available with an MFD enabled device.
